Since its inception 6 years ago, the festival has been a chief leader in bringing in some of the best renowned national and international dancers and drummers to the Bay Area, for cultural and educational experiences in traditional African dance and drumming. Mark your calendar for 2009 Veterans Day Weekend! 6th Annuak SF / Bay Area African Dance & Drum Festival Wednesday, Nov 4th thru Sunday, Nov 8th, 2009 5 wonderful days of traditional African dance, drumming, and songs, with Master Dancers and Drummers from Senegal, Liberia Mali, Guinea, and Gambia, as well as different styles of drumming and dancing of Sabar, Djembe, and Kutiro, and Congolese styles of dance and drum. Whether you are new or a veteran to African dance or drumming we would love to see you there. All levels are welcome.

All proceeds go to buying uniforms and school supplies needed for young girls in 2009-2010 school year, in the poverty-stricken countries Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea.
