We are directly across the street from historic Japantown. The facility is located between Webster & Laguna Streets @ Geary Blvd. Muni bus stops (routes 22, 23) are within one or two blocks walking distance.

Only one mile west of Union Square, Buchanan YMCA is easy to reach by bus or car.

• By bus -- From Union Square, take the No. 38 bus on Geary Street, or the No. 2, 3 or 4 on Sutter Street and get off at Laguna, Buchanan, or Webster.
• By car -- From the Bay Bridge or from Fwy. 101 coming from the south, take the Civic Center or Civic Center / Ninth Street exit. Go straight on Ninth (it’s a one way street going north). Stay in one of the two right-hand lanes. After crossing Market Street, Ninth becomes Larkin. Stay on Larkin to Geary Street. Turn left on Geary. Stay on Geary for about one-half mile and you'll be at Buchanan YMCA
• From the Golden Gate Bridge, take the Lombard Street exit, turn right on Webster and left on Geary you'll be at Buchanan YMCA
